The City of Sacramento now has Pay-By-Space parking machines at the Sacramento Valley Station and the surrounding parking lots to make paying for parking easier for customers. The parking lots are located at 5th & I Streets, 6th & H Streets and 7th & G Streets in downtown Sacramento encompassing 1012 parking spaces. Daily and hourly customers will use the Pay-By-Space Machines to pay for their parking. The Pay-By-Space machines accept coins, cash, and credit cards (Visa & MasterCard). The customer need only pay at the machine and enter the parking stall number, collect a receipt and go. Monthly parking customers will continue to use the existing hangtags, and will not usethe new technology. City of Sacramento staff will be on hand to help introduce customers to the new machines and help ensure a smooth transition. The City of Sacramento offers parking discounts for Capitol Corridor passengers. Discounted parking options are listed below, however, restrictions may apply to some options.
Park All-Day for only $4
The Commuter Special is available Monday through Friday at the Old Sacramento Parking Facility, located at 200 I Street (between 2nd and 3rd). Passengers must be "IN" by 7:30 AM and "OUT" after 5:30 PM. The rate is $4.00 all day. For more information visit the City of Sacramento's website.
Home of the California Legislature since 1869, the California State Capitol has been completely restored and is open to visitors. The building features exhibits and tours - and possible opportunities to watch the legislators debate a bill or cast a vote. Guided tours are available on weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Take the train to Sacramento and walk to the corner of 10th and "L" Streets. To get to the Capitol simply ask for your free transit transfer for a quick bus ride, or enjoy the short walk through town. On summer weekends, you can ride a steam train along the Sacramento River. Special "theme trains" also operate in October, November, and December. Contact the Museum for departure information, prices, and times. The Museum is located on the corner of Second and "I" Streets.
