Highway 17 Express Bus Service

Effective, April 26, 2004, the transfer of San Jose-Santa Cruz thruway Motorcoach service to Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District's Highway 17 Express bus service, provides increased service levels, connections to the Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin train services and better value for the dollar.

Currently, passengers cannot purchase an all-inclusive rail-bus ticket for connections between the Capitol Corridor or San Joaquin services and the Metro Highway 17 Express bus service. The CCJPA and Caltrans are working with Amtrak and Santa Cruz Metro to resolve the situation. For the time being it will be necessary to pay for bus fare by putting cash into the bus fare box or purchasing available Santa Metro Cruz passes. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
