Upcoming Timetable Change - October 27, 2008
**********************************************************************
Capitol Corridor will publish a new winter timetable on Monday,
October 27, 2008, and there will not be any major changes to the
current train schedules.
Train 548 and some motorcoach bus routes will have slight schedule
modifications.
Motorcoach bus Route 20 A/B will no longer stop at Soda Springs.
As part of our ongoing effort to reduce waste, Capitol Corridor will
be printing two pocket-sized timetables this October; one for train
schedules (including the Route 99 San Francisco motorcoach
connections) and one with just the motorcoach schedules and their
connecting trains.
Once finalized, we will post a PDF here on our website, or be sure to pick up one of the new schedules at a
station on October 27th.
Due to Caltrans construction scheduled for Thursday, October 16th, Westbound motorcoaches traveling on Route 20 A/B will be unable to exit I-80 at Colfax and pick up passengers traveling to Sacramento.
However, Route 20 A/B Motorcoaches traveling Eastbound will still be able to drop passengers off at the Colfax stop.
Passengers planning to travel aboard a motorcoach bus from Colfax to connect with a train in Sacramento on Thursday, October 16th should plan to board a motorcoach bus at either the Truckee or Auburn stops.
Effective Monday, September 29, 2008 the Capitol Corridor Great America Shuttle will be eliminated. The last day this shuttle service will be operate is Friday, September 26, 2008.
Capitol Corridor passengers who use these shuttles will be accommodated by the Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) shuttles that serve this station. The ACE Yellow Line shuttle follows the same route as the Capitol Corridor Route 1. The ACE Grey and Green Lines make similar stops to the Capitol Corridor Route 2 shuttle. Please check the ACE Route maps at www.vta.org for specific stop locations.
For several years, the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority monitored ridership on the Great America shuttles and ridership on these shuttles has declined significantly. Because ACE offers a shuttle service (operated through Santa Clara VTA) that runs similar routes, Capitol Corridor has made the green decision to merge services with ACE and VTA to reduce the number of shuttles that travel the same route.
For ACE shuttle schedules visit www.acerail.com
If the ACE shuttles do not meet your schedule, passengers may use the free Capitol Corridor Transit Transfer tickets to ride VTA's lightrail system and buses that also have stops near the Santa Clara/Great America Station. Simply ask the conductor for two Transit Transfers for your round trip connection.
We know you have many travel options and we appreciate your continued ridership.
Service to the Soda Springs motorcoach stop (SOD) is temporarily suspended due to construction on I-80 that will close the Soda Spring off-ramp.
Normal motorcoach service to the Soda Springs stop is expected to resume on October 27, 2008.
Overflow parking at the Davis station is available at the 4th & G St. parking garage.
